Jackson Talks Tintin

Peter Jackson was at the London Premier of The Lovely Bones and decided to remind us he was working on a Tintin movie. To my surprise he said the movie was done… kinda.

Movie Moron says

“Tintin is great. It’s made,” he said while in London for the premiere of The Lovely Bones. “The movie is cut together and now [we] are turning it into a fully-rendered film. So the movie, to some degree, exists in a very rough state.” You’ll have to wait a long time to see it though (if you actually care) because it’s going to take 2 years to do all the CGI.

Again, I only have a very light and very basic awareness that Tintin even existed, so I have no guage of nostalgia or anticipation for this.

Let alone two years worth. Maybe something will come along and make me want to see this. But right now its just mild curiosity.

Hi! Well, Tintin has to be one of *the* most widely anticipated movies outside of the U.S., as he is possibly the biggest non-American comic book character in the world. To put it in perspective – the highest price ever paid at auction for a piece of comic-book art anywhere in the world was for a cover painting for an early Tintin book.
Even inside the U.S. it has to be said that although he isn’t the huge hit he is in the rest of the world, he must have *some* profile – Larry Harmon made Tintin cartoons, the Children’s Digest serialized his adventures for years, Andy Warhol name checked Hergé as an influence and Little Brown and Last Gasp have put out the albums for decades.
Two years is a long time to wait, but it is over thirty years since his last movie outing, so hopefully it will be worth the wait!

@Jock123 Not saying the title isn’t popular. Just that its not popular here. Though I have heard of it.
