Final Kick Ass Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 19 - 2010

Lionsgate has released their final poster for the much anticipated Kick-Ass.

Check it out:

It looks too busy for me. I liked some of the previous posters that we have shared here, but this is just too much of a mess. If I am going to hang one of the posters on my wall it wont be this one.

New Cop Out Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 15 - 2010

A new poster is out for Cop Out staring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan with Stiffler.

I am really curious to see Cop Out, the deliciously ironic title for Kevin Smith’s A Couple of Dicks.Mostly because it is Smith’s first film he is directing that he didn’t write, and also because the trailer looked bad and I want to believe that it was just the trailer.

I love Kevin Smith, and I have grown to like Tracy Morgan (even though he looks like he is just his 30 Rock character in this) but I still want to like it.

First Look at The Crazies

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 12 - 2010

Images from the upcoming remake of the George Romero film The Crazies are online.

Check out the character posters and a few stills.

And with the silliest sounding synopsis yet:

Imagine living in a small town where everything is safe and happy…until suddenly it isn’t. Imagine your friends and neighbors going quickly and horrifically insane. In a terrifying tale of the “American Dream” gone horribly wrong, four friends find themselves trapped in their hometown in The Crazies, a reinvention of the George Romero classic directed by Breck Eisner from a screenplay by Ray Wright (Pulse, Case 39) and Scott Kosar (The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre).

Sounds like your typical zombie-esque film. Sure they are not zombies by exact classification but the people do devolve into something less civilized that while not craving brains for lunch are still less than cordial in their homocidal tendancies.

What caught my attention was Danielle Panabaker. I haven’t seen her in anything since her quirky adorable presence in Sky High (shuddap, I liked that movie) and (briefly) mistook her little sister for her in last year’s forgettable film Fame.

But I like seeing Olyphant kicking some ass, so this should be a fun “don’t die” seat of your pants kind of film.

Edge of Darkness Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 12 - 2010

Its been a while since we have seen Mel Gibson back in action, and he is returning to the big screen with a bang in Edge of Darkness.

EDGE OF DARKNESS is an emotionally charged thriller set at the intersection of politics and big business. Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) is a veteran homicide detective for the Boston Police Department and a single father. When his only child, twenty-four year old Emma (Bojana Novakovic), is murdered on the steps of his home, everyone assumes that he was the target. But he soon suspects otherwise, and embarks on a mission to find out about his daughter’s secret life and her murder.

There are a lot of people drawing a comparison to Taken, but after digesting my initial reaction to this I think the anger triggered in a man by the tragic events surrounding his daughter is the only common thread here.

Yeah, the father is motivated strongly by his daughter’s death but I want to see how they play out that emotional burden thinking that he was the target and it got her killed, then when he finds out that he wasn’t the target he has to face the reality that maybe she wasn’t Daddy’s little angel.

This looks pretty good, and I will be catching this at some point.

Clash of the Titans International Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 12 - 2010

I am pretty pumped about the Clash of the Titans remake. And now today we get a peek at the international trailer that features Perseus’ most loyal companion, the Pegasus!

I am totally digging the style and look of this film. When Neeson says “Release the Kracken” I just get chills!

Still not digging the music in the trailer. Electric Guitar power chords just take me out of the whole sword and sandal mythology fantasy film feel.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, you can go stream the HD trailer Here

The Spy Next Door Poster and Preview Clips Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 12 - 2010

Jackie Chan has always done silly action films and a handful of serious stuff back in his homecountry, but he just has oodles of appeal for kids with his brand of slapstick comedy.

That’s why no matter how silly Spy Next Door looks, I will still probably take my kids just to see their eyes bug out when he climbs a flagpole with his tongue or something equally impossible.

We have the final poster, as well as some preview clips of some of the action. Check them out:

The Trailer:

Bike Fight:

This also has the uniquely gorgeous Amber Valletta from last year’s Gamer and previously on Hitch. I don’t think her part is big, but I like seeing her anyways.

And my wife will be eager simply because it has Magnus Scheving in it. Yeah, Sporticus from the Icelandic “Lazytown” kids show. She’s got a thing.

Looks like some family friendly fun.

New Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 17 - 2009

There is a new poster out there for Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the Lightning Thief, and apparently it has no Olympians.

Not to say they are not in the movie, but that the title appears to be trimmed down to just be Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

The title almost has a pulp serial ring to it now that its been slimmed out. Like Alan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade or Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Still a mouthful, but not as run-on-sentence sounding as the original title.

The film looks to be fun and will definitely appeal to the Harry Potter demographic. And perfect timing as the legendary gods of myth are coming into style with Clash of the Titans and even Thor.

The Bounty Hunter Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 16 - 2009

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler face off their scowls in a new poster to promote their film The Bounty Hunter

I don’t know how it is that every film since 300 Gerard looks more and more slim. Where is that massive man we saw in that film. And he keeps flip flopping from action to Romcom that he does show some diversity, but he doesn’t always make the movie for me like I had hoped he would.

Jennifer Aniston, still as pretty as ever, makes her regular appearance on the big screen to remind you she once had a big career with Friends, and after each appearance you are more convinced of that fact. Yup… she was once big in Friends.

Maybe this will change that for her. Or not.

First Inception Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 16 - 2009

There has been some justifiable faith extended for Chris Nolan, and the film that we will forever say “We waited for Batman 3 over this?” (good or bad) is Inception.

And now as a reward for a maze game found on InceptionMovie.com we get our first poster for the film.

The poster is as puzzling as this mysterious dreamscape film.

New Iron Man 2 Poster Featuring Whiplash

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 10 - 2009

A new Iron Man 2 poster is online that is featuring the main enemy Whiplash.

I had hoped that the earlier images we saw of Whiplash were going to be a “work in progress” whiplash and that we would get to see a fully armoured version of him.

But it would seem that his mastery of the whip is sufficient enough to keep Iron Man at bay.

Still he looks pretty badass, and I can’t wait to see it.

Clash of the Titans Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 10 - 2009

I am so looking forward to seeing Sam Worthington just own the role of Perseus in the upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans.

And now we get our first onesheet poster for the film:

Yeah he looks pissed. Bit spoilerific if you didn’t already know that Perseus defeats Medusa… sorry ’bout that.

The Last Song Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 9 - 2009

A new poster for Miley Cyrus’ The Last Song is online, and while I have nothing against this movie, the poster is driving me crazy.

Miley looks to be growing up into a nice well adjusted performer who consistantly adds her music to her film career. Cross merchandizing. The story is about a big city teen (Cyrus) who reluctantly gets to spend a summer with her estranged father (Kinnear) in a lazy Southern coast town and they find common ground through music. This is suitable fare for Cyrus and I think she will do well with it.

But this poster abuses the first rule. The Floating Photshopped head. And its not even a well done floating head. Typcially the floating head is just a head and crops off the rest of the body as part of the design. Aside from looking hokey at least the heads are properly decapitated, this just looks cheap. The ghostlike head in the background is very poorly “cut off” that it looks even worse! If the ghost figure in the background was a faded vision of the whole person, the poster would be typical, but at least well put together.

Not a bad poster, but terrible execution.

New Tron Legacy Poster and Image Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 9 - 2009

Tron Legacy is shaping up to be a very visually stunning movie, and there is a new image and poster online.

The imgagery is just amazing. The poster looks a little gamey, but then its supposed to take place inside a video game.

Each step closer to the release of this film and the nostalgic little boy inside me gets closer to peeing his pants.

Kick-Ass gets a Red Mist Poster

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 4 - 2009

Kick-Ass is looking to shape up into a hell of a ride. And now the supporting cast of the film will also be getting their own posters starting with McLovin’s Red Mist!

This poster is epic. Seriously, the character of Red Mist is just crazy to begin with and now we get to see him in all his angsty glory posed perfectly on top of his penis compensating hot car!

Just awesome!

Iron Man 2 Teaser Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 1 - 2009

Right on the heels of seeing the teaser image of War Machine in Previews magazine, we get a release of the first Teaser Poster for Iron Man 2!

I love the pairing. I don’t think that War Machine will be the Villain as some presume, but he certainly will be opposed to Stark in some measure. The tensions built up from the first film put Rhodey and Stark as best friends, but of different viewpoints.

I think that Justin Hammer will be a Villain for Stark, and Whiplash will be the Villian for Iron Man. And War Machine will play somewhere in the middle. An ally who disagrees kind of thing.

First Look at Jonah Hex

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On November - 27 - 2009

Finally after so many teaser shots of what Megan Fox will look like in the film we are going to get a better look at Jonah Hex.

I have never been a Jonah Hex fan, nor have I read the books (I will likely pick up the collected trades closer to the film) but I have seen the images in the comics and wondered just how they were going to do his scarred up face.
I am glad they did it subtle this way instead of the more dramatic zombie like scars illustrated in the books.

New The Wolfman Posters Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On November - 27 - 2009

With Benicio Del Toro’s The Wolfman still about a year away, we get a fresh look at two more posters to promote the film.

I like these new posters. We finally get a better look at the Wolfman himself and I am a little disappointed that he looks so traditional. But its not a bad thing, I was just hoping to see something a little different.

French Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeakquel Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On November - 23 - 2009

There is a new poster out for Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel and I can’t help but be completely distracted by nostalgia and the power of the cute.

This time the poster is intended for the French market overseas… or Canada.

Maybe its just me being a dad, but I love that my kids get to be exposed to the Chipmunks just as I did at their age. The movie was adorable, and had moments of pure charm, which make me look forward to a sequel.

However I am a little bit disturbed when they try to make the girly chipmunks “sexy”. That just doesn’t sit right with me at all.

Clash of the Titans Teaser Trailer is Online!

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On November - 11 - 2009

While many sites claiming to have the new teaser trailer for Clash of the Titans are instead delivering the merciless hand of YouTube’s copyright compliance to have the video removed from their convenient database, ThinkHero has saved the day.

This looks utterly amazing and I am even willing to forgive the complete lack of golden clockwork owls in this trailer!

All those people who said this was a classic that should not be remade need to look Medusa in the eye and appologize right now!

New Alice in Wonderland Poster Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On November - 10 - 2009

A new poster for Alice in Wonderland has been promoted on its official Facebook page. If enough people are bribed to hit the “like” button for the poster, there is a promise that two more will be released as well. Ah social media bribery!

Anyways here is the poster:

I sort of find it a bit awkward. The distracting part for me is the Red Queen in her classic “Ort wit ‘er Head!” pose and pointing looks like she should be pointing at the White Queen, which she isn’t. But the perspective is off. She appears like she’s pointing at Anne Hathaway, but she’s in the foreground.

Its just disorienting even though I know the two are not even in the same scene. At least this is better than dwelling on Johnny Depp like he is what the movie is about. It showcases some of the other oddities of Wonderland.

We might even get an Alice in Wonderland poster with … I don’t know… Alice?
