Diary of a Wimpy Kid Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 22 - 2010

The tortured middleschool sterotypes have not been abused quite enough, so the bestselling book Diary of a Wimpy Kid was made into a film of the same name, and it actually looks pretty cute.

Yeah, its not going to change the face of film, but it looks like it might be a fun kid flick that will make my kids laugh without resorting to fart jokes. The “cute butt” thing was borderline, but it was well delivered from that innocence of the tween mind about to be corrupted with the reality of middleschool.

Greenberg Moves Release Date Back Two Weeks

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 22 - 2010

Seems the quirky comedy Greenberg staring Ben Stiller has been bumped back two weeks and will now release on March 26th.

The official release didn’t give a reason for the shift, but it might be to put some distance between this and the release of Alice in Wonderland the previous week. But its out of the frying pan and into the fire coming out on the same week as Clash of the Titans and I Love you Phillip Morris.

I think they might have been better off where they were.

I am looking forward to this, but I worry that its going to get lost in the mix of some pretty impressive March releases.

New I Love You Phillip Morris Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 14 - 2010

A new trailer for I Love You Phillip Morris is online, and it sure has me curious about the film.

This just looks hillarious. I know some people are going to think this is a gay movie, and well it is. The main characters are gay. Are you done being 12 now? Good. Because the movie isn’t about focusing on the gay part, they just happen to be gay.

That’s probably the part I like most about it. Its a comedy with gay men in it that isnt making it a comedy to be gay.

I really want to see this. And its been a while since I have said that about a Jim Carrey movie.

A Less Redband KickAss Trailer is Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 12 - 2010

Kick-Ass is just the kind of film that a Redband Trailer is made for, and I think that having it a Rated R film will limit its audience, but still they want to offer SOMETHING they can put on TV, so finally a “greenband” trailer is out.

Not sure “greenband” is a proper term, but it sounds better than “not redband trailer” so I am going with it.

Does this trailer still make you want to see it? Or is it entirely what was in the Red that makes you itchy for it?

I am still of the mind that no film NEEDS to be Rated R, but if you are going to do it, then just run with it!

The Spy Next Door Poster and Preview Clips Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 12 - 2010

Jackie Chan has always done silly action films and a handful of serious stuff back in his homecountry, but he just has oodles of appeal for kids with his brand of slapstick comedy.

That’s why no matter how silly Spy Next Door looks, I will still probably take my kids just to see their eyes bug out when he climbs a flagpole with his tongue or something equally impossible.

We have the final poster, as well as some preview clips of some of the action. Check them out:

The Trailer:

Bike Fight:

This also has the uniquely gorgeous Amber Valletta from last year’s Gamer and previously on Hitch. I don’t think her part is big, but I like seeing her anyways.

And my wife will be eager simply because it has Magnus Scheving in it. Yeah, Sporticus from the Icelandic “Lazytown” kids show. She’s got a thing.

Looks like some family friendly fun.

Updated: A-Team Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 9 - 2010

A less bootleggy version of the A-Team Trailer has made its way on the net, so in case you are having a hard time finding the blurry one, or just want to see it in its clean HD version… here it is:

I am just in love with the nostalgia factor here. The narrative trailer is just like the openning credits - almost word for word. The VAN!! A montage scene of them welding a war machine of some sort MacGyver style! I love it when a plan comes together! And seeing that they have to knock out BA before putting him on a plane is perfect. They are not just coining taglines, they are paying attention to the character idiocyncracies as well.

I am actually digging that Rampage is not being MrT even though he looks a lot like him. The goudy pile of gold chains and “I pity da fool” is appropriate to leave out so that they can “have” a BA Baracus, but not have a Mr T. He still has some sassy ‘tude that is still the spirit of the character.

And Neeson IS a badass.

Everyone looks good in their roles, and the Tank’chute scene is plausibly impossible and adds to the fun.

I wonder if their aim will be better?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Teaser Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 8 - 2010

Seems the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Teaser was just that. A Teaser.

WB seems to hate it when we promote stuff for them so the previous version we had up got ganked, but it seems that MovieWeb has it up, so here it is in case you missed it.

I enjoyed all the Harry Potter movies and I didn’t dislike the last one as much as most people did, but I wish we got to see more of Riddle’s past like we did in the books.

I have faith this last chapter will knock it out of the park. It has to!

Tim Allen’s Arbor Daze Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 6 - 2010

Tim Allen is always a win for me. He puts out family friendly movies that I always find enjoyable. He was Santa Claus! And just awesome in it.

Apparently Tim was pissed that his Wild Hogs co-star didn’t include him on the recent Old Dogs family film, and not satisfied to just snub the poor boxoffice that film got, Tim went to make his own family film.

Arbor Daze!

Tim plays an environmentally unconscious dad who’s son wishes he could understand what trees feel and he is transformed into a tree! Oh the warmhearted object lessons to be learned!

You can check out the official website Here

(And yes, I am aware that this is a Funny or Die fake Trailer, but they were so damned nice to tell me about it, and went to a lot of work, I thought I would present it like a real movie news)

From Paris with Love Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 5 - 2010

A new trailer for From Paris with Love is online and it features Travolta as a badass and it looks good. Mostly in that silly splodey kind of way. But it looks good.

I like Travolta being badass. He looks so different and doesn’t come across with that endearing father figure presence. This is how I like to see him best. Kicking ass.

This guy who directed this is now in charge of Dune, and while it will be a different kind of film I am curious to see what this guy can do.

I just hope they change that poster image.

Second International Robin Hood Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 4 - 2010

The second international trailer for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood is online.

This all looks great to me, and I can’t wait to see this in theaters.

District 13 Ultimatum Trailer and Featurette Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On January - 4 - 2010

This parkour thing is really taking a life of its own and I just can’t get enough of it.

This trailer and sneak peek at District 13 Ulitmatum just looks awesome.

There doesn’t even have to be a story here. I just want to see some of those crazy ass stunts!

New How to Train Your Dragon Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 30 - 2009

Dreamworks is headed to release the animated adaptation of the book How to Train Your Dragon from the Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III series of books.

A new trailer is online and looks endearingly charming.

Dreamworks has been hit or miss on their animated features, but I enjoy a number of them, and my kids love this book series so I am willing to give it a shot.

That dragon giggle makes me laugh.

New Inception Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 28 - 2009

Despite understanding a fair bit of French when I saw this version of the Trailer for Inception that was leaked last week, I was still confused.

Seeing it in english didn’t change that much, but visually I can’t wait to see this.

I like that Nolan’s money train known as the Batman films has given him free reign to do this. And I am really looking to see what this brings about. Seems the story is pretty surreal, and the mindscape just looks amazing.

A little plot was revealed, and we can guess at how things work, but we don’t know for sure.

This is high on my anticipation list.

The Backup Plan Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 22 - 2009

Jennifer Lopez is just one of those people I like seeing in romantic comedies.

So check out her latest appearance in The Backup Plan.

A woman thinks she will never find that “one true love” and takes efforts to become pregnant when suddenly she falls for a guy. Now she has to face the reality that the relationship might be moving forward naturally in a positive way, and her pregnancy plans may ruin it all.

I kind of like this conflict. Many Rom-Com plot involves two people falling for each other until someone does something unforgivable, then makes up for it and they live happily ever after. I like that this explores something different - at least somewhat different.

Looks fun. But do yourself a favour and DONT go to the Official Website which features a creepy image of a heart with little tiny heart sperms attacking it. And for good measure a heartsperm chases after your mouse. Creeped me out.

Hitgirl Focused Redband Kick-Ass Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 22 - 2009

A new trailer for Kick-Ass is online and this one focuses around Hitgirl.

Dammit, I would see this movie JUST to see this character. It never gets tired to have a little girl cussing like a trucker and kicking so much ass.

That scene with the gun in the doorman’s mouth and her shooting another guy through his cheek is just priceless. I squirm everytime I see it.

I will see this movie just for her, and fortunately it looks like there is more to the movie as well!

Marmaduke Movie Teaser Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 22 - 2009

Marmaduke was always a staple of the funny pages, and while I was never in love with the character, the one panel style syndicated comic quite often struck a chord and gave me a smirk or a little nod of recognition.

The dog was just a dog. And most of the gags revolved around the nameless couple who owned him and the obsticles of owning a 200lb Grate Dane.

Well now Owen Wilson will be giving that dog a voice for the feature adaptation of the comic strip to the big screen. Check out the teaser.

I expect this to lie in the same demographic of appeal that was the Garfield movies, but I am just not all that keen on seeing a Marmaduke movie. Not because its a talkind animal comedy, but it just doesn’t seem to have anything at all in common with the strip other than the breed and name of the dog.

Knight and Day Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 22 - 2009

The new Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz action flick has a trailer today and we have it for you right here.

Day-um. Now that looks like some fun. This is the Tom I love. We all know he has an extra helping of crazy with his morning poptards, but it makes him PERFECT for roles like this. And Diaz looks great in this too.

Yeah, it looks like right up front there is going to be some suspension of disbelief for the over the top action, and we don’t really know 100% what’s going on just from this trailer. But it looks like a fun ride.

Welcome back Tom.

The Bounty Hunter Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 18 - 2009

Yesterday we got the poster, and now today we get the trailer. The Bounty Hunter stars Gerrard Butler and Jennifer Aniston.

Butler is a bounty hunter who coincidentally has to bring in his ex who skipped her court date. When he finds out what she is involved in he feels compelled to help her.

It does look like a fun little romp and probably really good pick for a rental. I fear the inevitable end of it will have these fighting exes on either side of the law falling in love with each other but I hope that doesn’t happen.

That takedown at the side of the road near the very end of the trailer is classic.

The Runaways Trailer Online

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 17 - 2009

Kristen Stewart may be starring in one of the biggest movie franchises, but its not the only thing she is doing.

Stewart will be joining Dakota Fanning (who I am recently told isn’t eight anymore) in a rock biopic of the turbulent story of The Runnaways based on lead singer Cherie Currie’s book ‘Neon Angel’

And now we get a trailer.

Yup… Stewart cleans up well…thats not the right word. She messes up well. And I am still having issues with Dakota Fanning not being eight and rocking that look.

I am a sucker for music biopics, so I am in. I hope Stewart is better in this.

Olivo and Voth talk Bitch Slap

Posted by Rodney Brazeau On December - 17 - 2009

If you have been living under a rock, you might want to check out BitchSlap.

The film is a throwback stylized film that America Olivo calls “a thinking man’s sexploitation film” and “grindhouse done right”

And this is the BEST interview I have seen yet for the flick. Kevin Pereira (G4’s Attack of the Show) gets to chat it up with America Olivo and Julia Voth.

Absolutely perfect how America’s blazer accidentally bursts open near the end there. They couldn’t have planned that better.

It was after this film that Julia Voth got a lead role in John Campea’s The Anniversary which is making the film fest circuits over the last year.

But this is hands down the best promotional interview ever. The girls are perfectly hot, and fun. Julia Voth is always distracting.

As if the trailer wasn’t enough to go see this movie, this interview put me over the top.

Here is the trailer in case you missed it:

The film will have limited theatrical release on January 8th, and on DVD shortly after.
